Release Notes:
Anata's mandate has always been simple - to produce technical and
complex Extreme Metal without
alienating the listener, engaging them instead with highty melodic
and tuneful flourishes to offset what might might otherwise come
accross as chaotic. The band's debut for Wicked World,
'Under A Stone With No Inscription' (2004), certainly bridged the
gap as far as fans of both
progressively-minded Death Metal and mathcore/technical hardcore
were concerned, earning Anata
plaudits from those with enough confidence to embrace innovation
when they heard it, no matter what scene they preferred. With one
record, the band united scenes previously thought of as
polar opposites, simply by being different. 'The Conductor's
Departure' continues the process, once indulging the band's love of
spazzed out freakery and their basic devotion to Death
Metal.
